Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Mayank Yadav bowled an absolute knock to defeat Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2024 match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday. Cameron Green, the visitors won with 28 points. The game was played at 156.7 kmph and passed through Green’s defence, with the RCB star being beaten by Mayank’s pace. The incident occurred on the fourth ball of the eighth over, with RCB chasing 182 to win. Green’s wicket took RCB to 58/4. Former India head coach Ravi Shastri, who was commentating, was in awe of the performance.

After the match, RCB captain Faf du Plessis interpreted Mayank Yadav’s lethality.

Delhi’s torrid game left the RCB batsmen at the mercy of him and his sensational performance saw him take figures of 3/14.

That night, the LSG pacer broke the record with a speed of 156.7 km/h, recording the fastest pitch in the ongoing competition and overall the fourth-fastest pitch in the entire tournament history.

He dismissed Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green and Rajat Patidar, which dampened RCB’s hopes of chasing 182.

After the game, Du Plessis pointed out the factors that make Mayank more lethal besides speed.

“As with any new young fast bowler, it’s action you’ve never faced before, he’s got pace. His pace is great, but what’s even more impressive is his ability to control the length and delivery. That’s It’s a combination of speed and accuracy,” Du Plessis said after the game.
