Panaji:

Goa police have filed a chargesheet in court against Suchana Seth, CEO of an artificial intelligence startup, accused of killing her four-year-old child in an apartment in the coastal state, a senior official said son.

Seth, 39, was arrested on January 7 in Chitradurga in neighboring Karnataka state after taking her son’s body in a bag in a taxi.

She allegedly killed her children in an apartment in Goa’s Candolim area and left Goa on the evening of January 6.

The Calangute police submitted a 642-page charge sheet to the Goa Children’s Court earlier this week, the official said on Tuesday.

The charge sheet stated that the child died due to shock and suffocation. According to the chargesheet, Seth has been booked under Sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of official duties) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 8 of the Goa Children Act.

Goa police have announced 59 witnesses in the case and recorded the statement of the accused’s husband, who said Seth was not allowed to meet their son despite an order from the Bengaluru Family Court.

The Goa Children’s Court will hear the case on June 14, 2024, during which charges will be filed against the accused, who is currently in judicial custody in the coastal state.

The police also attached to the chargesheet a scrawled note written by the accused in eyeliner on a thin paper.
