The match moved to the third round after Pakistan’s Rizwan Ali and India’s Himanshu Kaushik won the first and second matches respectively.
However, after the game, Shahzeb’s gesture became a big talking point on social media. The Pakistani athlete was seen holding the flags of both his country and India. Even the match presenter could not stop himself from asking him the reason behind this action.
Explaining the gesture, Shahzeb said, “This fight was for peace. We are not enemies, we are together. Together we can do anything. This fight is for the friendship of Pakistan and India to become closer.”

After returning to Pakistan, Shahzeb was quoted by Dawn.com as saying that it was “unfortunate” for the government not to support its heroes.
“If our heroes are supported accordingly, they can become role models for our youth,” he said. “They will also get inspired and join the game,” he said.
He said that his next goal is to win the world title. “It’s happening soon in Dubai and I will go there and lead Pakistan to the world title,” Rind said.
