Any sporting event between India and Pakistan is a contest that is widely watched with enthusiasm and passion. The India vs Pakistan cricket competition is its pinnacle. Any match between the two teams divides opinion. Fans and experts from both the countries are more excited about this match than any other sport. Last week, when India’s Rana Singh and Pakistan’s Shahzeb Rindh faced each other in Karate Combat, the same scene was seen. In this tough match, Pakistani athlete won 2-1. The match moved to the third round after Pakistan’s Rizwan Ali and India’s Himanshu Kaushik won the first and second matches respectively.

However, after the game, Shahzeb’s gesture became a big talking point on social media. The Pakistani athlete was seen holding the flags of both his country and India. Even the match presenter could not stop himself from asking him the reason behind this action.

Explaining the gesture, Shahzeb said, “This fight was for peace. We are not enemies, we are together. Together we can do anything. This fight is for the friendship of Pakistan and India to become closer.”

He further added, “And, I want to thank Salman Khan for coming here. He is my superstar. I have been watching your films since childhood. It is a pleasure to fight in front of you. Thank you.”

After returning to Pakistan, Shahzeb was quoted by Dawn.com as saying that it was “unfortunate” for the government not to support its heroes.
