Police are hunting a cat killer who shot and killed a family pet in a “sickening” attack.
The cat was found in the Hopetoun Drive area of Allen Bridge, Stirling, at around 12pm on Friday.
It was taken to a veterinarian for treatment but eventually died.
police Scotland An investigation has been launched and it is believed aerial weapons were used in the attack.
Inspector Andy Bushell said: “This was disgusting behavior which resulted in the death of a family pet and our thoughts are with the cat’s owner.”
“cat Protected by law from cruelty, this crime may also breach the firearms holders’ terms so it is vital we find those responsible. “

Inspector Bushell urged anyone with information to come forward.
