Alappuzha:

Kerala Police on Monday recovered a body, suspected to be that of a missing woman, buried in a patch of land on which her house stands.

Police said that 60-year-old Rosamma, a resident of Alappuzha North, was missing since April 18. His brother Benny has been detained on suspicion of murder.

Police said widow Rosamma was planning to remarry next month, but her family members, including Benny, were against the decision.

“It is suspected that he got angry during an argument over the matter and hit her, resulting in her death,” police told PTI.

He reportedly confessed this to some local residents, following which the police took him into custody. The woman was being searched for the last few days.
