An insider close to the royal family has claimed that Prince William and Kate Middleton consider the idea of meeting Prince Harry a fantasy.
The Princess of Wales and the Duke of Sussex were very close in previous years.
Princess Kate’s meeting with Prince Harry is “the last thing she needs,” according to inside sources, dashing hopes of a reunion. While the Duke of Sussex wants to reconcile with his family, friends of the royal family have dismissed these ambitions as “fantasy.”
Sources indicate the Windsors are tired of the ongoing feud with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, which has dominated the royal narrative for several years.
Prince William’s friend claimed: “Meeting Harry is the last thing William or Catherine want or need right now. It is a fantasy.”
He continued to tell The Daily Beast: “This is not about an apology or who said what, this is about protecting her family.
“Kate is recovering from cancer, and she is avoiding stressful situations.”
In February, Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles, 75, had been diagnosed with a form of cancer.
This followed corrective surgery for an enlarged prostate which he had undergone at a London clinic a month earlier.
After the news was announced, Prince Harry announced that he would return to the UK to meet his father.
The two met briefly at Clarence House before the Duke returned to the US, where he lives with Meghan Markle.
A friend of King Charles and Queen Camilla told the publication that the meeting between Harry and his father was “an important step in the right direction” after the king was diagnosed with cancer.
He added: “The idea that Harry and the kids are going to descend upon Balmoral this summer is wishful thinking. It’s all very sad.”
