Vaughan Gething: Vet’s son and cricket fan set to become Wales’ First Minister

Vaughan Gething has been elected leader of the Welsh Labor Party and will become the next First Minister of Wales and the first black leader of a European country.

Geising, 50, who currently serves as economy minister, has been involved in politics since he was a teenager.

Mr. Gethin was born in ZambiaThere, his father, a Welsh veterinarian, met his mother, a Zambian chicken farmer.

He was first elected to the Senate in 2011 as the MP for Cardiff South and Penarth.

Mr Gethin joined the Cabinet in 2013 as Undersecretary for Poverty Issues, the first black Cabinet minister in a devolved government in the United States. Northern Ireland, Scotland Or Wales.

He was appointed Deputy Minister of Health in 2014 and subsequently became Minister of Health in 2016.

‘Retired’ cricketer

He was a keen cricketer but now describes himself as “largely retired”.

Although cricket is his main sporting interest, Mr Gethin is also a fan of rugby and football.

But he said he spent most of his time outside parliament with his wife and young son.
