‘This language has no place’: Congress on leader Kangana Ranaut’s remarks

Supriya Shrinate said many people have access to her Facebook and Instagram accounts

Controversial remarks about Kangana Ranaut were posted on party leader Supriya Shrinate’s social media account. Congress on Tuesday said it has always maintained that there is no such statement in public discourse and the matter should be concluded with Ms. Shrinate clarifying the facts.

Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit told a press conference that Ms Shrinath had clarified that someone with access to her account had made the post.

“She said she would find out who did it,” Mr Dikshit said.

“Such language has no place in public discourse, Congress has always made it clear. Supriya lucky Someone said that no matter who did it, it was a mistake. She has explained it and that should be the end of it,” he added.

The Congress party came into the spotlight after disparaging remarks against Ms. Ranaut and Mandi were posted on their social media accounts by leaders Shrinate and HS Ahir.

On Monday, when the controversy erupted, Congress spokesperson Ms Shrinate said in her defense that many people had access to her Facebook and Instagram accounts and one of them made inappropriate posts. She also said she had deleted the post and would take action against parody accounts using her name.
