Meghan Markle ditches old friends in desperate attempt to ‘reinvent’ herself

Meghan Markle has been in the news for the past few weeks after several celebrities and social media influencers unveiled the first launch of her lifestyle brand.

The Duchess of Sussex sent 50 jars of strawberry jam to Hollywood celebrities like Minda Kaling, Chrissy Teigen, Kris Jenner and others to promote her brand American Riviera Orchard.

talking to daily Mail, Culture expert Nick Ade reflected on Meghan’s strategy of choosing friends who would be beneficial to her business.

“We can see who’s in and who’s out. The old guard of celebrity friends from Meghan’s pre-Megxit days have been left out of this PR campaign and there is a new squad who live in and around the Montecito area and are women in business. Supports,” she said.

Public relations expert Mark Borkowski expressed similar sentiments on the Suits alumnus letting go of “former confidants and acquaintances” who did not mesh with her “new narrative”.

He told the outlet: “Meghan’s circle proves that she has and will continue to have a deep influence. The range of names surrounding him in this endeavor certainly speaks volumes about his evolving inner circle.

“Mindy Kaling and Tracee Ellis Ross, it’s clear that she’s putting together a group of influencers and creators,” Borkowski continued, “signalling a shift toward a more culturally resonant area.

“As far as those left out in the cold, it’s a strange mix of former confidants and acquaintances who probably don’t fit into the new story.

“This is a strategic move that undoubtedly demonstrates Meghan’s innovation and ability to stay in the news cycle,” he said.
