The 12-year-old boy, who wanted to become a fighter pilot, died at a city hospital days after he was allegedly beaten up by his superiors, family members of a schoolboy said.

The incident took place on January 11 at a government school in North Delhi’s Shastri Nagar area. The boy died in the hospital on January 20. The post mortem was done on Tuesday.

The Delhi government, in a statement, said its thoughts are with the bereaved family who lost their child in a tragic incident.

The child’s family has demanded strict action against the accused.

Vinod Sharma, the victim’s grandfather, said, “My grandson’s dream was to become a fighter pilot, but our dreams have now been shattered. We found his body after post-mortem on Tuesday evening and we are returning to our home after his cremation.” He further said that the family members, including the child’s father, had visited the government school more than three times and The principal had assured him of action in the matter.

“We send our children to school to become good human beings. It was the responsibility of the school teachers and principal to take care of our child,” said Sharma.

Police said they are waiting for the post-mortem report to know the actual reason behind the child’s death, after which they will file an FIR.

“The post-mortem has been conducted and the body has been handed over to the family. Legal action will be taken as per the findings of the report,” said a senior police officer.

The victim’s father Rahul Sharma had said that his son was beaten up by his seniors in school and he suffered injuries on his leg.

“On January 11, when my son, a class VI student, returned home from government school, he was limping and in extreme pain. I asked him about the matter, but he did not tell anything,” Sharma had told PTI over phone.

According to him, the child was taken to the hospital where he was given some medicines and asked to rest for a few days. But his health deteriorated and then his family took him to another hospital in Rohini where he died on January 20.

The victim’s mother has appealed to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to take strict action against the accused.

The mother told PTI, “I ask CM Kejriwal to return my son, whom I had enrolled in a government school by trusting you… I still don’t know what happened to my son because the school There are no CCTV cameras.” Video.

“The alleged incident took place outside the school premises after parents sought CCTV footage, which has been traced,” the Delhi government said in a statement. A speedy inquiry has already been ordered into the matter and a report has been sought from the committee within two days and a formal report from the school head is to be submitted by Tuesday. “The Delhi government is actively taking necessary measures including counseling of students to promote positive mental state and prevent any possible unexpected incidents,” it said.
