Nominations for second phase of Lok Sabha polls begin today

The last date for submission of nomination documents during this phase is April 4.

The nomination process for 88 assembly seats in 12 states began on Thursday in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections.

Earlier on Thursday, the Election Commission on behalf of the President issued a notification for the second phase of the parliamentary elections to be held on April 26.

The last date for submission of nomination documents during this phase is April 4.

Nomination papers will be scrutinized in all states and Union Territories except Jammu and Kashmir on April 5.

In Jammu and Kashmir, the review will be held on April 6.

A part of Outer Manipur Lok Sabha constituencies will also go to polls in this phase. Notifications for the Outer Manipur constituency elections have been included in the first phase of the gazette notification issued on March 20.

The 15 Lok Sabha constituencies in Outer Manipur will go to polls in the first phase on April 19. The constituency’s 13 wards will go to polls on April 26.

States and Union Territories voting in the second phase include Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra , Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal, except parts of foreign states. Manipur seat.
