In-form pace bowler Kasun Rajita will miss the second Test against Bangladesh due to a back injury, the Sri Lanka Cricket Association said. The second and final Test begins in Chittagong on Saturday with the Sri Lankan tourists winning by 328 runs in the first match at Sylhet to take a 1-0 lead. Rajita was instrumental in taking eight wickets in two innings, including 5-56 in the second. Asitha Fernando joins the team as a substitute.

Sri Lanka Cricket said: “Kasun Rajita will not be available for the second Test match as the player has injured his upper left back.”

Fernando last took 10 wickets in a Test match in Bangladesh in 2022.

He last played a Test against Afghanistan in February.

He was initially ruled out of the Bangladesh series with a hamstring injury but later recovered enough to be included in the squad for the second Test.

Sri Lanka have never lost a Test series to Bangladesh.
