Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels claimed they fired a missile at a British ship off the country’s coast on February 15. The Houthis said they “carried out a military operation … against a British ship that was transiting the Gulf of Aden,” the military said. The Houthis claimed responsibility for the missile attack on the Barbados-flagged bulk carrier Lycavitos. Houthi armed spokesman Yahya Sarri claimed that the missile carried out a “direct” strike. The attack coincided with the disclosure by the United States that it had seized a shipment of Iranian weapons destined for the rebels in January. Meanwhile, the United States recently conducted a cyber attack on an Iranian warship in the Red Sea, NBC News reported. Watch this video to learn more.
