The death of jailed Russian opposition leader Navalny sparked Western outcry and condemnation of Putin Western governments including the United States, Britain and Germany on Friday criticized the Russian president’s most vocal critic Alexei Navalny’s sudden death comes as a harsh blow to Vladimir Putin. Navalny, 47, died in the Arctic prison colony where he served for 19 years. Russia’s Federal Prison Service said in a statement that Navalny fell unconscious after the walk and medical staff were unable to revive him.
