Mumbai Indians (MI) Hardik Pandya’s return to the team did not go as planned after suffering multiple losses in IPL 2024. Hardik moved to MI from Gujarat Titans and eventually took over the captaincy from veteran Rohit Sharma, but faced a lot of backlash from the fans. Hardik has been constantly targeted by fans during matches so far. When he returned to Ahmedabad for MI’s first match against GT, he was booed by the fans.

The trend continued against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). Several former cricketers have come out to support the all-rounder during the challenging times on and off the field.

Former Australia captain Michael Clarke is the latest person to extend his support to Hardik. Clark, who played just one season in the IPL in 2012, revealed his conversations with Hardik and shed light on the latter’s mentality.

Clark called Hardik a confident man and said that if MI can start getting good results, he will be able to win over the fans.

“It doesn’t help when your team is not performing well. When I came here, I spoke to Hardik Pandya and he looked all right. He is a very confident guy Man. He won’t allow this to spread.” “He really needs to get this team to win cricket matches. Mumbai are a very good team and there are always high expectations. The fans want They’re at the top of the tree, but right now they’re at the bottom,” Clark told ESPN’s “Around the Wicket.”

England pacer Stuart Broad also spoke about the dismal form of five-time champions Mumbai Indians. He said the only way Mumbai Indians could stop what was happening inside the stadium – with fans constantly mocking captain Hardik Pandya – was by winning the game.

“To be honest, as a player it doesn’t bother you at all. It’s a big part of international and top-level sport,” Broad said.

“You don’t necessarily feel that environment and hostility at your home stadium. But I don’t think that atmosphere affects you as a mature performer. You still have to go out there and develop your skills.” “Ultimately, Mumbai Indians are a winning team. They have a winning mentality but they are not winning. That is the most difficult thing they are facing right now. All they need to do is get back to the winning ways,” he said .
