Teams from different teams have arrived for the T20 World Cup. The 2024 T20 World Cup will be played in West Indies and USA from June 2 while the final will be played on June 29. This time a record 20 teams are playing in this marquee event. The teams have been divided into four groups of five teams each. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super Eights. Four of these teams will qualify for the semi-finals. Recently the Indian team announced its squad for this event.

However, one team announcement went viral and it was from New Zealand. Two children introduced the teams. But it seems social media has found a new favorite in the Ugandan team announcement. In the Ugandan announcement, a person can be seen going to different places like market, night club, gym etc when he is given a card with the player’s name on it.

Uganda sealed their place in the competition with a nine-wicket win over Rwanda in November 2023, prompting a massive celebration by team members and staff.

Ugandan off-spinner Frank Nsubuga is set to become the oldest cricketer to play in the upcoming T20 World Cup at the age of 43. On Monday, the Uganda Cricket Association announced a 15-man squad for the marquee event to be held. America from June 2, the country’s first appearance in the main round of the competition.

Brian Masaba will lead the team, while Riyazat Ali Shah has been named his deputy.

At the Africa Qualifiers, Uganda secured their place in the regional finals by finishing second behind Namibia.

They begin their campaign on June 3 in Guyana against Afghanistan, who have been drawn in Group C, which also includes New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and hosts West Indies.
