Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has been making headlines for a long time. While everyone is eagerly waiting for the film, reports are now coming that Amitabh Bachchan may also star in the film alongside Ranbir Kapoor. According to Zoom Entertainment reports, Big B has been confirmed to play King Dashrath in the movie. Although there is no official confirmation of this yet, it will be interesting to see Amitabh and Ranbir share the screen again after the 2022 film Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva.

Ranbir Kapoor will essay the role of Ram in this film. Sai Pallavi has been roped in to play the role of Sita. Earlier, Alia Bhatt was in talks for the role of Sita but she backed out due to date-related issues. KGF star Yash is also likely to play the role of Ravana in the film, while Sunny Deol has reportedly been roped in to essay the role of Hanuman. Bobby Deol and Vijay Sethupathi are also reportedly in talks for roles in Kumbhakarna and Vibhashana respectively .

Earlier today, India Today reported that Ranbir Kapoor recently underwent a look test for his role as Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s film. An insider told an entertainment portal that Ranbir’s audition photos were also held, which impressed everyone in the team. Sources also claim that the director does not want Ranbir to add extra muscle to the character of Lord Ram. Instead, he wants Ranbir to be his lean avatar.

Earlier this month, it was also reported that Ranbir will also undergo voice and diction training for the film. “Ranbir has a certain baritone voice and the way he says his lines. It’s symbolic and if you close your eyes, you can recognize the dialogues purely based on Ranbir’s voice. In Ramayana, Neet Shi wants to ensure that Ranbir sounds different from the roles he has played in the past. As a versatile actor, Ranbir enjoys the process of trying new things,” India Today quoted a source as saying.

The shooting of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is likely to begin this summer.
