He added that early large orders were handled by multiple delivery partners and the customer experience was not what the company expected. “Such large orders were earlier being filled by multiple regular fleet delivery partners and the customer experience was not really what we were looking for. These new vehicles should solve most of the issues our customers face while placing large orders with Zomato, ” he added.

“Having said that, these vehicles are still ‘in development’ and we are adding important enhancements to them such as cooling chambers and hot boxes with temperature control to ensure everything arrives just the way you like it,” Goyal Gentleman explained the situation regarding the fleet.

In March this year, Zomato announced the launch of a “vegan mode” service for customers with 100% vegetarian preferences. Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal has said that the fleet will wear green uniforms and delivery boxes, in stark contrast to Zomato’s signature red T-shirts and bags. However, it faced backlash from some online and the company reversed its decision to change uniform colors under the new service.
