Young Egyptian girl Desh Rangeela’s singing has won widespread praise, including from Prime Minister Modi

A young Egyptian girl dressed in India’s traditional ghagrajoli dress and sang the patriotic song “Desh Rangeela” has won widespread praise from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders.

Modi’s praise came after the Indian embassy in India released a short video of the girl singing at a Republic Day celebration organized by the Indian mission.

A young Egyptian girl, Kaliman, sang a patriotic song “Desh Rangeela” during the 75th #RepublicDay celebrations at India House. Her melodious singing voice and right intonation impressed a large number of Indians and Egyptians alike, the official X account of the Indian Mission in Egypt was released on Sunday evening.

Less than 24 hours later, the little girl Kaliman (authorities have only given her single name) sang Desh Rageela’s song with perfect phrasing, which Modi posted on his X account. Mann’s interpretation is beautiful! I congratulate her on this endeavor and wish her all the best for the future.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Housing and Urban Affairs Minister and Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri also retweeted Prime Minister Modi’s X post. The nearly one-minute video has been viewed more than 605,000 times after Modi heaped praise on the young Egyptian girl.
