Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered their third loss in the ongoing IPL 2024 as they were soundly beaten by Lucknow Supergiants on Tuesday. Quinton De Kock played some brilliant knocks to set the team up perfectly while Nicholas Pooran ended the LSG innings with a quick knock of 40 off 21 balls. In reply, RCB never tried to take control as the wicket of young pacer Mayank Yadav ended their hopes of winning the match. In a video posted by RCB on social media, Kohli can be seen looking frustrated as head coach Andy Flower addressed the players in the dressing room after the match.
“In a few days we have an exciting opportunity. I see how we respond to that opportunity. It’s a tough day! Everybody in this room is hurting. But the opportunity I see is how we respond to it. ?” Flower said in a video posted on X (formerly Twitter).

RCB captain Faf du Plessis also expressed disappointment with the result but thanked the fans for their support and promised to work harder when he returns to Bengaluru for the next home leg.
“RCB fans thank you very much for your support. It’s great to see the fans disappointed with the performance in the last two games. The team is injured but we are very grateful for your support and we must see you back when we come back to Bangalore, Thank you very much, it means a lot to us.”
Faf du Plessis unpacks the skill set that makes Mayank Yadav so deadly after they suffered a 28-run defeat against Lucknow Super Giants at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Delhi’s torrid game left the RCB batsmen at the mercy of him and his sensational performance saw him take figures of 3/14.
That night, the LSG pacer broke the record with a speed of 156.7 km/h, recording the fastest pitch in the ongoing competition and overall the fourth-fastest pitch in the entire tournament history.
He dismissed Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green and Rajat Patidar, which dampened RCB’s hopes of chasing 182.
After the game, Du Plessis pointed out the factors that make Mayank more lethal besides speed.
“As with any new young fast bowler, it’s action you’ve never faced before, he’s got pace. His pace is great, but what’s even more impressive is his ability to control the length and delivery. That’s It’s a combination of speed and accuracy,” Du Plessis said after the game.
