President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign and the Democratic National Committee said Saturday they raised more than $90 million in March and ended the first quarter of the year with more than $192 million in cash on hand, further widening their position relative to Donald Trump. ·Trump and the Republican Party’s financial advantage.

The Biden campaign and its affiliated entities reported raising $187 million from January to March and said 96% of all donations were less than $200.

Biden reported raising more than $26 million at a March 28 event at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan, which added to the fundraising from former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton (Bill Clinton) attended the event.

Trump and the Republican Party announced earlier this week that they raised more than $65.6 million in March and ended the month with $93.1 million. As the current president in 2020, Trump had a huge campaign fund when he lost to Biden.

Trump’s campaign said it raised $50.5 million at an event with major donors at billionaire investor John Paulson’s Florida home on Saturday, setting a single-event fundraising record.

Campaign fundraising reports filed with the Federal Election Commission detailing donations from Saturday’s event are not expected until mid-July.

Biden’s campaign said the pace of donations allowed it to launch large digital and television ad campaigns in key states and work with the Democratic National Committee and state parties to better mobilize potential supporters ahead of the November election.

Donations totaled more than $192 million as of March 31, the campaign said, the highest total ever for a Democratic candidate. About 1.6 million people have donated to the campaign since Biden announced he was seeking re-election in April 2023. The campaign raised more than $10 million within 24 hours of the president’s State of the Union address in early March.

“The funds we raise are historic and will go toward the critical work of building a winning operation focused solely on the voters who will decide this election — offices across the country, staff in our battleground states, and paid media programs meeting voters Where are we,” Biden campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez said in a statement. She scoffed at “Trump’s cash-strapped operation, which is channeling limited and dependent billionaire funding to pay his various legal bills.”

Trump campaign officials said they don’t expect to raise as much as Democrats but will get the money they need. The Biden campaign said its strong fundraising showed enthusiasm for the president despite his low approval ratings and polls showing a majority of voters do not want to see a rematch in 2020.
