Aditya Srivastava, the UPSC topper in the Civil Service Examination scored 54.27% and ranked first in all India in 2024

Aditya Srivastava, the topper in the Civil Service Examination in the prestigious examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), according to the detailed marks of the recommended candidates released by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) today Scored 54.27%.

Followed by Animesh Pradhan who scored 52.69% in Civil Services Examination 2023.

As many as 1,016 candidates, including 664 males and 352 females, qualified for the examination, the results of which were declared on Tuesday.

The Civil Services Examination is conducted every year by the UPSC in three stages – Preliminary Test, Main Test and Personality Test (or Interview) – to select officers for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian External Affairs Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IFS) . IPS) etc.

The preliminary examination consists of two objective (multiple choice) papers, with a total score of 400 points.

This stage serves only as a screening test and the marks obtained by the candidates declared eligible for the Main Examination during this stage will not be counted in the order of determining their final merit.

Merit is determined on the basis of a total of 2,025 marks – 1,750 marks for the written or main examination and 275 marks for the interview.

According to the scores of recommended candidates disclosed by UPSC, 27-year-old Srivastava scored a total of 1,099 points, including 899 points in the written test and 200 points in the personality test.

He hails from Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh and is a trainee police officer of the Indian Police Service (IPS). Srivastava received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur and holds an M.S. He took electrical engineering as an optional subject in the civil services examination.

Pradhan, 24, a resident of Talcher town in Odisha’s Angul district, secured 1,067 points (892 points in the written test and 175 points in the interview) to secure the second position.

He chose sociology as an optional subject in his exams. Pradhan holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela and is currently working as an employee in the Refinery Division of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC).

The third place winner, Donuru Ananya Reddy, who appeared in the examination as a financially weaker candidate, scored 1,065 marks (52.59%) – 875 marks in the main exam and 190 marks in the interview – and the fourth place winner, PK Sidharth Ramkumar, scored 1,059 marks (52.29%) )——Written test with 874 points and interview with 185 points.

Reddy, 22, holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in geography from Miranda House, Delhi University, where her elective subject was anthropology. She hails from Mahabubnagar in Telangana.

Ramkumar, 27, holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Thiruvananthapuram Institute of Architecture.

Rouhani ranked fifth with 1,049 points (51.8%), including 856 points in the written test and 193 points in the interview. She received her BA (Hons) in Economics from St. Stephens College, University of Delhi.

UPSC has released the score details of all 1,016 candidates on its website.

The Civil Service (Preliminary) Examination 2023 will be held on May 28.

A total of 10,16,850 candidates registered, out of which 5,92,141 appeared for the examination.

A total of 14,624 candidates have qualified for the written (main) examination held in September.

“A total of 2,855 candidates are eligible for the personality test in the exam,” UPSC said.

Among them, 1,016 candidates were eventually recommended to serve in different government departments.

UPSC said the government reported 1,143 vacancies, including 180 for IAS, 37 for IPS, 200 for IPS, 613 posts in different central Group A services and 113 posts in Group B, which will be filled through the Civil Services Examination 2023.

As many as 240 candidates have been included in the reserved list, the statement said, adding that the candidature of 355 recommended candidates has been reserved as provisional list.
