The government on Friday said it will soon announce the National Creator Awards, which will recognize new-age influencers and social media creators. The awards will be awarded in nearly 20 categories.

The National Creators Awards will be the first of their kind and will target “Gen Z”, the younger generation addicted to the internet and social media.

Social media influencers such as YouTube and Instagram will also be in contention for the award, PTI reported quoting sources.

One category will be awarded to those who help spread the country’s soft power and culture internationally. Sources said other categories may include ‘Green Champion’, ‘Swachta Ambassador’, ‘Agri Creator’ and ‘Tech Creator’.

They said the awards will be similar to the National Film Awards, recognizing films in different languages ​​and categories.

Bharat Ratna Award
