A pregnant woman and her husband were killed and their two-year-old daughter was seriously injured when a speeding truck rammed into their motorcycle in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district on Tuesday, police said.

Station House Officer (SHO) Dharmendra Kumar said Imran (30), his eight-month pregnant wife Cindy (28) and their daughter were going to the hospital for ultrasound examination when the truck hit them on Unn Road motorcycle.

The body has been sent for autopsy. The victim’s daughter was hospitalized, he said.

Dharmendra Kumar said a case was registered against the truck driver, but he managed to flee the spot.
