Detective Superintendent Andrew Patrick said: “Each serious incident is challenging to investigate individually and our officers meticulously examined every detail during this extremely lengthy investigation.
‘Senseless violence’
“The violence involved in these cases, which resulted in the deaths of two men, is absolutely senseless.
“While these were targeted attacks, these individuals did not care about the communities and families affected.
“I believe these sentences demonstrate that those who intend to commit a crime, no matter how much preparation you do, how many steps you take to obstruct an investigation, or how long it has been since the crime was committed, we will not give up.”
