India’s Test series against England was interesting in every aspect. While the five-match series brought some tough knocks and promising spells, it also set a world record for six. India and England hit a combined 102 sixes, the most in any Test series. Rohit Sharma and his teammates hit 72 of these balls while the visiting team England hit the remaining 30 balls. Among the balls India batted, Yashasvi Jaiswal hit 29 sixes alone. He also broke Rohit’s world record for hitting the most sixes in a Test series.

Head coach Rahul Dravid had an interesting reply when asked to comment on India’s six-wicket spree in the series.

“I just showed (the team) the video of my batting, man. So they’re hitting six now,” Dravid told the host after the match.

“But it looks unbelievable and that’s one aspect of the game that’s at a different level. We have a guy (Rohit Sharma) who is the greatest six-batsman India has ever had. It’s amazing The – (six batsmen)) batted with power, skill, ability. Every time they batted, the ball seemed to go out. It was amazing,” he added.

India lost the first Test of the series and ended up winning 4-1. The Rohit-led side showed a stunning turnaround to seal a favorable position in the series.

The victory made India the first team in 112 years to win 4-1 after losing the first match. England had previously achieved this feat in the 1912 Ashes series against Australia.
