Australia and Delhi Capitals (DC) batsman David Warner’s latest collaboration with Telugu director SS Rajamouli has taken the internet by storm. In an advertisement for Indian fintech company Cred, Warner’s image can be seen inspired by Rajamouli’s blockbuster Baahubali. The ad perfectly depicts Warner’s love for Telugu cinema and his antics throughout the cameo make Rajamouli a frustrating figure. Warner also shared the ad on his official Instagram account. In the commercial, Warner can be seen recreating some of the popular scenes and performing some dance moves.

“See you at the Oscars?” Warner can be heard saying to Rajamouli in one of the clips.

Warner’s fascination with Telugu cinema and culture began during his time with SunRisers Hyderabad in the IPL.

He often shares videos and mashups of himself dancing to Telugu songs. Even his wife and daughter appear in his Instagram videos.

Warner played for SRH for eight seasons between 2014 and 2021, leading the team to their only championship in 2016.

However, Warner exited SRH in ugly fashion after his relationship with the management soured.

After a season, he was picked up by Delhi Capitals, the team for which he made his debut in the IPL, when they were still known as Delhi Daredevils.

Warner led the DC side last season in the absence of wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, who missed the season due to a life-threatening car accident.

However, Pant resumed captaincy ahead of this season. While D.C. finished last season last season, they currently sit at the bottom of the 10-team standings with just one win out of a possible five games.

Warner has scored 158 runs so far this season at an average of 31.60 with a strike rate of over 142 and has completed a half-century in his career. His best score of 52 was their only win so far against the Chennai Super Kings in Visakhapatnam.
