South Wales police investigating death of man near Cardiff Rugby Club

Police are investigating the death of a man who died near Cardiff Rugby Club.

The man died near Llandaff Rugby Club on Western Avenue at around 3am on Monday.

South Wales Police said they were continuing to investigate the “sudden and unexplained” death.

The deceased was identified as a 65-year-old local man.

Police added that his next of kin have been informed but formal identification has not yet been carried out.

His family are being supported by detectives.

Llandaff Rugby Club said in a statement “our sympathies are with all those affected”.

The club added that the police cordon at the site “is not directly related to the club but affects our use of the car park”.
