Sarah Ferguson said she admired Kate for speaking out about her cancer diagnosis after months of wild speculation about her health.
Fergie, who is married to Prince Andrew and has daughters Beatrice and Eugenie, made the comments after Kate released a courageous video message to the nation on Friday.
The Duchess of York said: “As someone who has battled cancer in recent months, I have great admiration for the way she has spoken openly about her diagnosis and know it will have a huge benefit in raising awareness. “
She added: “I hope she is now given the time, space and privacy to heal.”
The duchess revealed in January that she had been diagnosed with skin cancer around the same time King Charles announced his diagnosis of the disease.
Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not informed of Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis because they were not trusted by their family, a royal expert claims.
