Kate Middleton is considering sister Pippa for key royal role

Kate Middleton and Prince William may rely on a close member of their family to play a key role as they step down from their royal roles in the near future.

Royal historian Kate Williams has suggested that the Prince and Princess of Wales are eyeing Pippa Middleton for the role of maid of honor to their sister Kate after she becomes queen.

“I think traditionally, we might expect Catherine to appoint her sister Pippa, [as her lady in waiting] Because Catherine is very close to her family,” the royal commentator said during royal beet podcast.

“He doesn’t have any friends because he’s very close to his mother and his sister.”

Pippa came into the public eye in 2011 during the royal wedding of Kate and William.

Williams explained that many people probably expected Pippa to be the person Kate “hired”, however, she also said that “Pippa has her own life.”

He added, “Three kids, their own busy lives. This is an interesting question.”

“The role is definitely evolving at the same time. It is evolving, but the work of a king and a wife is not diminishing,” the royal historian explained. “Letters, correspondence, emails are increasing every day.”
