Sainsbury’s said it was experiencing “technical issues affecting some stores” and affecting its ability to currently complete the “vast majority” of online deliveries.
The supermarket chain said it had “experienced a number of technical issues that impacted some stores, our online grocery offering and our ability to contact customers”.
“Unfortunately, we will not be able to fulfill the vast majority of today’s grocery deliveries online,” they added.
Sainsbury’s said it was “working hard to resolve the issue” and apologized to affected customers.
“We will proactively contact customers to rebook orders as soon as possible,” they said.
The supermarket also assured customers that their personal data “remains secure even if something goes wrong”.
