Ashwini and Crasto captured two Super 100 championship titles, the Abu Dhabi Masters and Guwahati Masters, and finished runner-up at the Syed Modi International BWF Super 300 tournament.

With a total of seven badminton quotas, India can field its joint-largest badminton contingent at the Olympics, having played at the Rio Olympics in 2016 with seven shuttlers.
