Rajasthan Royals’ veteran campaigner Trent Boult on Sunday selected Riyan Parag and Nand Berg as the two players in his squad who will play in the ongoing IPL Played a key role in the 2008 winners during the season. The Sanju Samson-led side are on a two-game winning streak and will look to continue their momentum when they take on the struggling Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday. With standout performances of 43 and 84, Parag showed his penchant for accumulating runs quickly, marking a major transformation from a man who struggled to realize his talents to one who appears to have matured.

On the other hand, young South African left-arm fast Hamburger has done well in sharing the new ball with Boult and has impressed on his IPL debut by grabbing three wickets so far.

“My first encounter with him (Parag) was during the IPL bubble warm-up match in Mumbai a few years ago. He got 85 off probably 30 balls and I just thought he was the most impressive The players were in awe,” Bolt recalled in an interview with the media before Royals practice.

“Obviously everyone is happy to see him have some success early in the Championship this year. He’s always been regarded as an exciting player so of course it’s always nice to see a guy come out and get good results. Very satisfied,” he said.

Bolt added: “He was 100 per cent important for us in this game.”

Bolt praised Berg for not showing any struggles while playing in challenging white-ball tournaments like the IPL without having much experience.

“Nandre is a guy I’ve just met, but he bowls fast, has good technique and comes from South Africa where the conditions are very different,” Bolt said.

“He’s developed his game well and given us very good performances so far, so he’s another guy who should play a big role in our Championship,” he added.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored over 700 runs in the Test series against England, is yet to make his mark in this IPL. Bolt, for his part, was full of praise for his young teammate.

“(He’s) a phenomenal player. Obviously (I’ve) been playing with him for a few years. I don’t want to say last year was his breakout season, but he’s had about 15 great months,” Bolt said. .

“The guy is hungry for runs; he is hungry to get better. You can see it in the way he trains. He takes the game from the nets straight to the middle. No wonder he is one of India’s rising stars.” Bol Added Te: “His talent with the bat. His future is very exciting. “

Boult, however, rejected any suggestion that Rajasthan Royals were worried about the form of opening batsman Jos Buttler, who has struggled with runs of late.

“Jos Buttler is a player whose record speaks for itself. You can’t keep (scoring) runs every day but I know he’s very keen to contribute and get his Championship start. I don’t think there’s anything we don’t have The worry is there,” Bolt said.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians senior spin bowler Piyush Chawla confirmed that the five-time champions are still awaiting news from the National Cricket Academy (NCA) on the status of world number one T20 batsman Suryakumar Yadav.

Suryakumar has been out of action since January this year and has been stationed at the NCA in Bengaluru while recovering from ankle and groin injuries.

When asked about Suryakumar’s progress, Chawla replied: “The NCA still needs to take care of that and the coaches know it better than us players.”
