Tom Cruise ‘grabbed’ the olive branch offered by David and Victoria Beckham

Tom Cruise is happy to have received an “olive branch” offered by David and Victoria Beckham after receiving an invitation to the fashion designer’s birthday celebration last month.

A source told this National EnquirerTom was thrilled to receive an invitation to Victoria’s 50th birthday celebration in London on April 20.

An insider said, “Tom has given up hope that they will ever be friends again.”

Previously, Tom and David “were inseparable” when the wife of the former soccer star and former Spice Girls band member first moved to Los Angeles in 2007 after signing with the Galaxy soccer team.

However, the source alleged that Beckham soon backtracked when Tom used pressure tactics to get her to join his Scientology religion.

“He came on very strong and he wouldn’t take no for an answer. They essentially ghosted him – and Tom was very bitter!” An insider revealed.

Interestingly, the tipster noted, “Tom did everything for them when they first came to LA. He practically gave them the keys to the city.”

“She threw him a party to meet all the important people – and as soon as they got set up, they surprised her!” An insider said.

The source explained that the invitation to Victoria’s star-studded party was the grand gesture Tom was looking for!

“Tom grabbed the olive branch with both hands,” an insider said.

The source added, “Now he plans to make things work again and sees this as a passport into Posh and Becks’ UK cool club!”
