Punjab Kings’ winning ways came to a halt after they suffered a shocking 28-run win against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday. After winning two consecutive games, PBKS failed to capitalize on their momentum and were restricted to 139/9 while chasing the target of 169/9. In the match, Ravindra Jadeja performed all-round and scored 43 runs in 26 balls and also took three big wickets for CSK. However, it was a disappointing performance with the bat for MS Dhoni as the CSK star was out for a golden duck.

The left-arm spinner took three wickets for 20 runs in four overs in the crucial middle overs stage to derail PBKS’s target, which ended at 139 for nine.

“Thought we bowled really well. Rahul Chahar and Harshal bowled really well, were very happy at the halfway mark but unfortunately it didn’t happen. The wicket was probably slower than we thought, we needed a bit more pace and The bounce was expected, it was pretty much the same throughout the game, PBKS stand-in captain Sam Curran said after the match. CSK will now take on Gujarat Titans in their next IPL 2024 match on Friday while PBKS will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore on Thursday.
