Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Diya Kumari began voting on account (interim budget) in the Assembly on Thursday.

The full budget for 2024-25 will be tabled in July.

Under Article 116 of the Constitution, a vote of account is required before the budget is approved to meet essential government expenditure for a limited period.

The grant period is several months and the amount is equal to one-sixth of the total estimate.
