Rajasthan Congress leader Manvendra Singh Jasol met with an accident near Kushpuri village on the Delhi-Mumbai highway on Tuesday.

The driver was accompanied by his wife, son and driver when he apparently lost control of the car and crashed into the side of the overpass, news agencies reported. PTI As the police said.

Police officials said the wife of former Congress MP Chitra Singh died in the accident, while the senior Congress leader and his 25-year-old son Hamir were admitted to hospital with serious injuries.

The 59-year-old Congress politician was driving from Delhi to Jaipur with his family when the accident occurred, and the injured were “out of danger,” police said. CCTV cameras in the area were not working on the stretch of road where the accident occurred.

Manvendra Singh Jasol is the son of former BJP leader Jaswant Singh Jasol, who was in Atal ·Served as federal finance minister in the government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Singh said: “Hearing the news of former Bhamer-Jaisalmer MP Shri Manvendra Singh ji and his son being injured and his wife dying in road accident , I am deeply saddened.”

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot expressed grief over the death of Singh’s wife. He posted on the microblogging site X: “Mr. Manvendra Singh Jasol The news of the death of Mrs. Chitra Singh due to a car accident is sad. I pray to God to grant peace to the departed soul and courage to the family.”

“I am shocked by the news of the death of Shri Manvendra Singh Jasol ji’s wife Smt. Deep condolences for Chitra Singh ji’s accident,” Sachin Pilot posted on X.

Vasundhara Raj prayed for the speedy recovery of Singh and his son.
