It is believed that Prince Harry and King Charles would prefer to set aside their schedules to meet, provided Meghan Markle was not present.

Next week, Harry, 39, is set to travel to Britain in what is expected to be a solo trip, while his wife prefers to stay in California.

In a conflict with his father, Charles, Harry will attend a Thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral as part of the Invictus Games Tour, scheduled for May 8.

And ITV News royal correspondent Chris Ship tells The Sun’s Royal Exclusive Show that father and son will put aside schedules to meet until Meghan arrives.

Chris Shipp told The Sun’s royal exclusive: “The relationships within that family are very difficult and I think, yes, it would be a lot easier if Meghan wasn’t there.

“But you know she is still the king’s daughter-in-law and she still has two children who are the king’s grandchildren.

“You would kind of hope that they would all see each other.”

An insider said Meghan has “expressed no interest” in coming back to the UK.

The former actress has yet to introduce youngest, two-year-old Lilibet, to the royal family – which Chris says could give the king a “boost” during his cancer battle.

She added: “Wouldn’t it be great if they brought the kids and they all went to meet grandpa, because that would really give them a boost.
