Ghaziabad:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday held a roadshow in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad to support BJP candidate Atul Garg.

In his first roadshow in the state since the Lok Sabha polls were announced last month, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Mr Garg joined Prime Minister Modi in an open jeep to make an enthusiastic speech supporters wave.

The roadshow started from Maliwad Chowk and culminated in Chaudhary Mod.

The district government made careful security arrangements for this event, including deploying a large number of personnel and implementing traffic diversion.

This is the Prime Minister’s first roadshow in Uttar Pradesh after the Lok Sabha elections were announced.

Under the scorching sun, supporters had been waiting on the road since the afternoon, drums and bands keeping them busy.

People on both sides of the road laid flowers and held up banners to the prime minister as his vehicle drove slowly down the road.

Paintings were installed at various points along the way, including one of his mother Hiraben blessing him. Figures of Lord Ram and Sita are also on display.
