Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Sanju Samson looks back on his school days growing up in Delhi and Kerala. Samson was born in Thiruvananthapuram and spent most of his childhood in Delhi and studied at Rose High School in Mukherjee Nagar. However, he moved back to Kerala after his father took voluntary retirement from the Delhi Police Force. In an interview with Star Sports, Samson shared an interesting anecdote about how he transformed from a troublemaker to a studious kid.
“I completed my schooling in both Delhi and Kerala. I was naughty in Delhi but when I came to Kerala I became disciplined as the principal of the school was my father’s friend. So I behaved Gotta be like a studious person,” Samson said.
Samson also recounted how he was once punished for shouting in excitement.
“One time, I went to the vice principal and asked if we could go to PT during our free time. The teacher agreed. I was so excited that I yelled in the corridor. My classmates enjoyed their free time, but I was too excited for yelling. and be punished,” he said.
“I used to go to church with my family on Sunday mornings. Then my mom would make something special on Sunday. I used to help her with what she was doing,” Samson added.
Meanwhile, Samson is currently leading RR in the IPL season.

RR comes into the match on the back of a win over Mumbai Indians (MI), while RCB lost to Lucknow Supergiants in their last match.
With one win in four games, RCB currently sit eighth in the 10-team table, which speaks volumes about their troubles, while Rajasthan’s unbeaten record so far leaves them second with six points .
