A school teacher was allegedly shot by two teenagers over a personal dispute. The incident took place 100 meters away from the school in Sakhipur village, Greater Noida, police said.

The teacher was on his way to school around 9 a.m. when two boys approached him to talk before shooting the victim, the Press Trust of India reported.

“Rakib Hussain, a resident of Chand Wali Masjid Gali in Surajpur district, was on his way to Sushil Modern School today when two boys around 17 years old came to talk to him conversation and subsequently shot him,” a police spokesman told the agency.

As far as the victim’s health is concerned, a bullet grazed the teacher’s earlobe and he was taken to the hospital in reportedly normal condition.

“The bullet hit him near his right ear and he has been sent to the hospital for treatment. The condition of the injured Raqib Hussain is normal. He is out of danger,” he added.

An investigation has been launched into the matter and all possible angles are being investigated, including links to previous disputes between the parties.

Both defendants are absconding and police have launched a manhunt for the two men involved in the attack.

The statement added that additional police personnel have been deployed in the area and there is no law and order issue.

In another such incident reported by the NCR this week, two men were shot dead inside a salon in southwest Delhi’s Najafgarh area, police said on Friday.
