NASA’s Crew 7 mission is coming to the end of its six-month residency on the International Space Station (ISS), with seven astronauts preparing to return to Earth. During their extended stay, the astronauts have been hard at work conducting multiple scientific experiments and technology demonstrations designed to benefit humanity and advance NASA’s readiness for future space missions.

The crew of Manned 7 are scheduled to leave the International Space Station on March 11 and bid farewell to their space home. The SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft is expected to detach from the space station at 11:05 a.m., and assuming suitable weather conditions, the journey will culminate with a splashdown off the coast of Florida on March 12. The mission represents the culmination of the extraordinary journey of NASA astronaut Jasmin Moghbeli, ESA astronaut Andreas Mogensen, JAXA astronaut Satoshi Furukawa and Roscosmos astronaut Konstantin Borisov, who began their space voyage on August 26 last year.

Currently, there are 11 astronauts from the United States, Europe, Russia and Japan on the International Space Station, including the recently arrived Crew 8 members. NASA emphasized that Crew 7 is about to complete its nearly six-month scientific mission and aims to bring important research results back to Earth for further analysis.

During its tenure on the International Space Station, Crew 7 achieved important scientific milestones. They have conducted research exploring the effects of space flight on immune function, developed innovative ways to remove contaminants from wastewater, and investigated the feasibility of growing food in the microgravity environment of space. In addition, the team successfully deployed two CubeSats, which serve as cost-effective alternatives to traditional satellites and contribute to our ongoing efforts to expand our understanding of space technology and exploration.
