MS Dhoni is an emotion. Despite turning 42, the Chennai Super Kings stalwart continues to entertain fans with his batting prowess. He came a little late in his 16-ball 37-ball haul against Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 on Sunday. However, CSK fans had nothing to complain about as they witnessed MS Dhoni’s classy performance. As fans cheered after watching Dhoni’s performance, a 10-year-old tweet from the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman resurfaced on social media and went viral.

Nowadays, Dhoni is no longer someone who regularly posts content on social media. However, in 2014, he posted a tweet that read: “No matter which team wins, I’m here to entertain.”

Sunday’s game against Delhi was a true reflection of Dhoni’s words from a decade ago. Even though CSK lost the match, their former captain made the day bright for everyone by showing pure entertainment.

Facing a tough target of 192, Super Kings tried to narrow the target through Ajinkya Rahane (45), Dhoni (37 not out) and Daryl Mitchell (34), but Capitals carried too many guns on the night. CSK ended up with 171 runs for 6 points.

When CSK needed 58 off 18 balls, Dhoni batted for the first time this season amid chants of “Dhoni Dhoni” and treated his fans to some delightful knocks .

The former CSK skipper smashed two fours off the first three balls and Ahmed lost a sitter in the second ball.

Dhoni then bowled Ahmed with six over extra cover, who ended up missing 12 runs off three balls. But Mukesh shattered CSK’s dreams by conceding just five runs in the 19th over, leaving them with an impossible 41 runs in the final over.

However, Dhoni, who turned back the clock, sent the fans into jubilation with a four and a six off the first two balls, followed by a four and a six off the last ball as CSK scored 20 runs.

But Dhoni arrived a bit late.
