Rajasthan Royals add Keshav Maharaj in place of Prasidh Krishna, KKR gets new spinner Cricket News

Rajasthan Royals on Thursday added South African senior left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj to the squad to replace pacer Prasidh Krishna in the ongoing Indian Premier League.

Kolkata Knight Riders have also named 16-year-old Afghanistan player Allah Ghazanfar as a replacement for injured Mujeeb Ur Rahman, the IPL said on Thursday.

Ghazanfar has represented Afghanistan in two foreign direct investments. The youngster has played 3 T20 matches and 6 Group A games and has taken 5 and 4 wickets respectively. He joins KKR for a base price of Rs 20 lakh.

Placid recently underwent surgery on the proximal tendon of his left quadriceps and is currently recovering.

His successor Maharaj played 27 T20Is, 44 ODIs and 50 Tests and snatched 237 wickets in international cricket.

Additionally, he played 159 T20 games, picked up 130 wickets, and could make some decent runs in the order. RR hired him at a base price of Rs 50 lakh.
