Mangaluru International Airport has received the coveted Level 3 Airport Customer Experience Certification from Airports Council International (ACI), said a press release issued by MIA on Friday.
The certification was issued by ACI on February 2 and is valid for one year. The airport will obtain Level 2 qualification in December 2022.
This certification is intended to further strengthen this public asset’s ongoing efforts to enhance customer experience. Airports participating in this process will receive a comprehensive assessment and training that includes stakeholder-employee engagement and staff development.
It is the only certification program in the global airport industry that offers a 360-degree view of customer experience management. Level 3 certification recognizes Macau International Airport’s advanced practices in specific areas such as service design and innovation, airport culture, governance, operational improvement, measurement, customer understanding and strategy.
MIA is the first airport in India to reach the coveted milestone by handling 5 million passengers in the category, a press release said. ACI – Luis Felipe de Oliveira, Managing Director and CEO of ACI World, posted on LinkedIn congratulating Mangaluru International Airport on its certification, which will be held on September 24 The number of awards awarded this year increased to 26 at the annual ACI Customer Experience Global Summit held in Atlanta, USA.
The airport has now set its sights on Level 4 certification, which will require collaboration between the airport and the community, according to the release.
