The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently confirmed the 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup 2024, and also announced 4 reserve players who will travel with the team.

Players like Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson, Shivam Dubey and Yuzvendra Chahal made the much-awaited comeback to the Indian team, while key stars like KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Shubman Gill were not included in the 15-member squad. When the BCCI selection committee finalized the team, Rinku Singh was arguably the biggest loser.

India picked only three seamers, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh, for the mega event, while handed call-ups to four spinners, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav.

India captain Rohit Sharma, in a press conference later, explained the decision to pick 4 spinners in the team, ignoring Shubman, Rinku and a few others.
