Whoopi Goldberg Reveals Raw Addictions of the Past in Upcoming Memoir

Acclaimed actress and EGOT winner Whoopi Goldberg takes a candid and insightful look at her former battles with cocaine addiction in her upcoming memoir. Bits and Pieces: My Mom, My Brother, and Me.

This memoir will be available for purchase on May 7. It provides a close-up view of Goldberg’s path through achievement, notoriety and inner torment.

In his autobiography, Goldberg discussed his early drug experiences and admitted that, attracted by the glitz and glamor of Hollywood, he experimented with cocaine.

Although Goldberg initially thought she could control her drug use, she has openly described how cocaine gradually took its toll, resulting in terrifying episodes of paranoia and hallucinations.

“I used to be invited to parties, where I was greeted at the door with a bowl of Quaaludes, from which I could choose whatever I wanted,” Starr wrote.

“Lines of cocaine were laid out on tables and bathroom counters to pick up cocaine.”

While staying in a Manhattan hotel, the actress experienced a sobering moment when she was forced to face the harsh truth of her addiction.

Goldberg made the courageous decision to face his problems and begin his sober path during this terrible period.

She recalls, “I knew I would have to change my friends and turn down invitations but I could do it.” “I didn’t want to die.”
