New Delhi:

Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Thursday asked the jail superintendent to submit a factual report on the Aam Aadmi Party’s allegations that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was not provided insulin in Tihar jail.

The LG order came after Delhi Cabinet Minister Atish claimed that there was a conspiracy to kill Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in the excise policy case and was not allowed to make homemade food in jail and insulin, but the charges were dismissed by prison authorities.

Raj Niwas said: “Shri VK Saxena @LtGovDelhi expresses serious concern over reports based on statements of ministers and AAP leaders alleging non-supply of insulin to jailed CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal and alleged ‘conspiracy’ against him.

“Shri Saxena has asked the DG Prisons to submit a factual and comprehensive report within 24 hours on the matter. Although the prisons as transfer subjects are directly and completely under the jurisdiction of the AAP government, the LG assures that there will be no laxity in the health of the CM. There will be Tolerated,” Raj Niwas said in a series of posts on X.

Addressing a press conference, Atish said the Tihar jail administration rejected the chief minister’s request for insulin and tried to arrange a video conference with his doctor, but faced resistance from the emergency room and prion officials.

“His blood sugar levels have been above 300 mg/dL for the past few days,” she claimed.

“Despite Arvind Kejriwal’s repeated pleas, he was not getting insulin and his blood sugar levels were rising. He was not getting medication because there was a conspiracy to kill him,” she claimed.
