Labor urges government to publish legal advice on Israel

As pressure mounts on Rishi Sunak to suspend arms sales, Labor has urged the government to issue any legal advice on whether Israel broke international law during its attack on Gaza.

Shadow foreign secretary David Lammy said: “The law is clear. The UK cannot issue arms licenses if there is a clear risk that the items could be used to commit or facilitate serious breaches of international humanitarian law.”
