Karnataka minister says he 'slaps students who chant Modi Modi', BJP hits back

The Bharatiya Janata Party has lodged a complaint against Karnataka Minister S Tangadagi for his remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Congress leader sparked a debate by saying students who raised slogans of “Modi, Modi” should be slapped.

“PM Modi promised 20 million jobs. Did he give it? They should be ashamed. His youth supporters who chanted ‘Modi Modi’, slap them,” said Tangadhaji Speaking at an election rally in Koppal.

“They (BJP) are coming to campaign now. With what face are they seeking votes? If youths are asking for jobs, they (BJP) are asking them to sell pakoda. They must be ashamed. If any students or youths are still saying ‘Mo Dee, Modi, they should be slapped,” he added.

Reacting to the Karnataka minister’s remarks, BJP leader Amit Malviya said no political party can survive by targeting the youth.
